Meet the people who write for this blog

To spread the message of young worker safety far and wide, the first step is getting the right information out there. Workplace Safety & Prevention Services (WSPS) partners with professional content creators experienced in writing for parent-focused publications and digital communications. The writers work with WSPS safety experts to select topics and shape content into succinct, helpful blog posts.

Here are the writers currently contributing to First Job, Safe Job:

  • Colleen Christison is a copywriter and brand strategist who has written for diverse industries across North America and the United Kingdom, including work for brands such as Hootsuite, SEMrush, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Mark Anthony Group.
  • Katharine Reid is a freelance writer and communications professional. Her specialty is using storytelling to raise awareness. Her work usually focuses on children's health, literacy, sustainable living, nature, travel and the environment. She's also easily pulled into discussions of women's issues, especially as they intersect with motherhood, parenting, body image, diet culture and the mental/emotional load.
  • Bonnie Schiedel is the founder and principal at North Star Writing. Her award-winning work has been featured in national publications such as Best Health, Cottage Life, Chatelaine and Today's Parent, and her corporate clients include Arthritis Society Canada, Heart & Stroke Foundation, LCBO and northernontario.travel.
